This program is designed for young ballplayers that will be playing in a machine pitch baseball league for the upcoming spring/summer 2020 season. The 5 week program will be a hitting league format that is designed to be a fun (emphasize fun) yet competitive atmosphere whereby participants will form small teams of up to 4 players per team and can score points based on hitting certain targets. A maximum of 4 players will be assigned per hitting cage to maximize hitting repetitions and allow for adequate rest periods in between at-bats.
Based on our successful format from last year, we expect players to see "a whole season of pitches" during the five week session to give players more confidence and practice against the spring-loaded machine before baseball season even starts.
Coaches and parent scorekeepers needed. Please indicate your interest in helping when registering. Players with an adult family member that volunteers will get a bonus week of hitting on January 3rd during a volunteer training session.
Coaching duties are minimal - there is no lineup to set or team equipment to haul around. Coaches are expected to help keep their team of 3-4 players organized, operate a pitching machine, and provide basic hitting instruction to players. Hitting league scoring is designed to be simple and easy to track.
