2019 Fall League Information

Please review the Fall League information below prior to signing up.

Fall League Eligibility and Divisions
The Fall League is open to boys and girls that are ages as described below as of August 15, 2019. Any exceptions are to be approved by the league commissioner.

  • Coach Pitch Division (5-6) - In this division, coaches toss up to five pitches to each batter. If necessary, the batter hits off of a tee after five unsuccessful pitch attempts. Players that are age 4 with previous t-ball experience that are looking to "play up" to coach pitch may register at parents' discretion.
  • Machine Pitch Division (7-8) - Teams in this division hit off of a spring-loaded pitching machine from 46 feet away. Players age 8 as of August 2019 may choose to play Machine Pitch to work on fundamentals at their current level or play in the Kid Pitch division to gain experience before entering kid pitch next spring.
  • Kid Pitch Division (8-9) - Players in this division will pitch to opposing batters from 46 feet away.
The Fall League is open to participants in Menomonee Falls, Sussex, Germantown, Richfield, Lannon, Brookfield, and other nearby areas. There are no residency restrictions, but players should be able to commute to games and practices timely.

Teams
The coach pitch and machine pitch divisions will consist of up to 10 players per team. The kid pitch division will be limited to 11 players per team.

Participants may register as a full team, partial team, or sign up individually. Less than full teams will be assigned individual players until spaces run out.

The league has sold out in each of the last four years. Spots are limited and priority is given in the order sign-ups are received.

Weather
In the event of inclement weather, pre-determined make-up games are included in the schedule. The pre-determined weather make-ups gives fall league participants the best chance of playing all six games. We cannot guarantee all games will be played if numerous games are cancelled due to weather.

If more weather make-up games are necessary beyond the make-up dates listed above, we will make efforts to reschedule games to complete the full 6 game schedule. No refunds will be given for missed games or if weather prohibits the season from being completed.

Fall League Rules - Coach Pitch Division
The Fall League will follow Little League International generally accepted rules for this age group, unless otherwise specified below.

- A coach pitches up to 5 pitches to each of their own team's batters. After 5 missed pitches, the player may hit off of a tee.
- All hits are singles and runners may advance 1 base on each hit. No leadoffs, stealing, bunting or advancing on errors, etc.
- A half inning ends after 3 outs, or 5 runs.
- Bases are 60 feet apart
- Up to 10 players will play (P, C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS and 1-4 OF). If 6 players, no OF positions. If 5 players, no OF or C position. A team with 7 or fewer players may reasonably borrow players from another team in the league.
- Coaches should rotate batting orders, rotate defensive positions to allow balanced participation between infield and outfield, and no player may play the same position twice in one game.
- A game will last up to 4 innings. As time is nearing an end, coaches may wish to speed up the last inning at their discretion (i.e. only 3 pitches per batter or use only the tee). Due to field time allotments, games will be under a strict time limit.
- Further rules will be communicated to coaches prior to the start of the season.

Fall League Rules - Machine Pitch Division
The Fall League will follow Little League International generally accepted rules for this age group, unless otherwise specified below.

- A spring-loaded machine operated by a coach pitches from 46 feet to their own team's batters. Each batter is allowed 7 pitches, or more if any pitch after the sixth pitch is a foul ball. There are no walks or called (non-swinging) strikes.
- Courtesy runners are allowed for catchers or injured players. The last player to make an out is deemed to be the courtesy runner.
- No leadoffs, stealing, bunting or advancing on errors, etc.
- Runners may advance at their own risk up to 1 base for a ball hit in the infield. Runners may advance at their own risk without limitation for balls hit into the outfield until the outfielder releases a throw. For balls hit into the outfield, as long as the runner makes an attempt at the next base, the runner may advance at their own risk until the outfielder releases a throw from their hand.
- A half inning ends after 3 outs, or 5 runs, except in the fifth inning the run limit is increased to 9 runs.
- Bases are 60 feet apart
- 7-10 players will play (P, C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS and 1-4 OF). If 8 players, 2 OF positions. A team with 8 or fewer players may reasonably borrow players from another team in the league.
- Coaches should rotate batting orders, rotate defensive positions to allow balanced participation between infield and outfield, and no player may play the same position twice in one game.
- A game will last up to 5 innings. The final score will be determined by the last full inning completed. Due to field time allotments, games will be under a strict time limit.
- Further rules will be communicated to coaches prior to the start of the season.

Fall League Rules - Kid Pitch Division
The Fall League will follow Little League International generally accepted rules for this age group, unless otherwise specified below.

- Players pitch from 46 feet to the opposing team batters. Pitchers are limited to 1 inning (3 outs) per game. Falls Baseball encourages the development of pitchers.
- Courtesy runners are allowed for catchers or injured players. The last player to make an out is deemed to be the courtesy runner.
- No leadoffs. Stealing is allowed after the ball crosses the plate. Runners may not steal home.
- Runners may advance on errors or passed balls. A runner on third base may not advance to home by stealing or a passed ball.
- Coaches should rotate batting orders, rotate defensive positions, and rotate pitchers to allow balanced participation, and no player may play the same position three times in one game. As stated above, pitchers are limited to 1 inning per game.
- A game will last up to 5 innings. The final score will be determined by the last full inning completed. Due to field time allotments, games will be under a strict time limit.
- Further rules will be communicated to coaches prior to the start of the season.
